VINTAGE SWING PARTY Second Edition// 1940s themed party with live swing music
You can buy a dinner buffet for only 250,- to your ticket. Its cosy to socialise at a nice table with good or new friends.
Saturday the 23th of March, Sønderborg Lindy Hoppers will open its doors at DET BLÅ GYMNASIUM to a lively group of swing dancers who will fill the dancefloor to the groovy swingin’ tunes of the 1930s and 1940s swing jazz– AND YOU ARE INVITED to this 1940s themed party!
Everybody is welcome and no prior experience or partner is required, so come join us!
Don’t know how to dance?
No worries! From 11-16 there will be a “NEWBIES Workshop” to swing dancing, where you will learn the basics of Lindy Hop, so you are able to conquer the dancefloor with your new moves and swing the night away.

For Lindy Hoppers
If you already know the basics of the dance, Kuno and Gosia And Eiki and Miranda from Copenhagen will challenge your Lindy skills with a workshop from 11-16. This is not for complete beginners. You require a fundamental knowledge of Lindy Hop. You can lead and follow basic six-count, 8-count, charleston figures including the legendary swingout on the social dancefloor.

Music will be provided by the amazing Big Band Opus 2 and DJ Splanky will keep our feet dancing between sets.
Don’t feel like dancing? No problem! You are more than welcome to sit back and enjoy the music, the party and the atmosphere! The bar will serve cold beers, sodas and cocktails of the 1940s whenever you need a break from dancing.
Dresscode? Dress to impress! If you have a vintage dress/suit, it’s time to give it a spin! Your most festive outfit will also do!
So gather your gear and spitshine those boots and head down to Idrætshøjskolen and dance the night away.

Sønderborg Lindy Hoppers is a non-profit swing dance organization in Sønderborg. Our goal is to promote Swing dancing in the region with an emphasis on dance joy and community. We were founded one year ago in march 2022 – we’ve existed for two years now! and this we will celebrate with this big swing party!
