Sonderborg Castle

Option 1: Free admittance for one person to Sonderborg Castle

Sonderborg Castle (Sønderborg Slot) was established as a castle in the first half of the 1200s. It was in this castle that King Christian II was held as a prisoner in the years 1532-1549.

You will find permanent exhibits at the castle that present the history of Sonderborg Castle and Southern Jutland in addition to cultural collections from Als and Sundeved.

 

 

Cathrinesminde Brickyard

Option 2: Free admittance for one person to Cathrinesminde Brickyard

Cathrinesminde Brickyard (Cathrinesminde Teglværk) lies in an area of natural beauty on the coast of Flensburg Fjord at Broagerland and presents the industrial history of Danish brickyards and Southern Jutland.

The beautiful landscape is marked by clay pits, kneading mills and shipping locations from hundreds of years of brickmaking operations.

Option 3: Free admission for one person at the German Museum Nordschleswig

Deutsches Museum Nordschleswig tells the exciting story of the German minority. Based on the 19th century, the referendum in 1920, the time of Nazism, the court settlement after 1945 and the rapprochements between Danes as well as Germans and Danes, the exhibition will make you wiser about what it means to be part of the German minority in the border country.
