Free Danish lessons in Sonderborg
As a newcomer you are entitled to attend a free Danish course for up to 3.5 years during the first five years of your stay in Denmark. The Danish lessons are divided into 6 modules. Depending on your qualifications and skill level, you will be placed on a course. Before starting the Danish course at the language school you are obligated to pay a deposit of 2.000,- DKK (about 267,- Euro) which will be payed back to you after completion of the Danish course.
Danish schools and courses in the Sonderborg area
In Sonderborg, the following Danish schools are offering free Danish lessons:
A2B (for everyone and international students from SDU and EASV) and UCplus (only for international students).
The municipality of Sonderborg will send you a letter with information about your right to Danish course. Within one month of receiving the letter, you are to contact your local language school.
Also, the Danish library in Flensburg/Germany (Dansk Centralbibliotek for Sydslesvig) offers Danish lessons.

Dansk Café at the SDU Library
Join the Dansk Café for international newcomers at the Library of SDU. We meet twice a month at the University´s Library at Alsion in Sønderborg. Contact the Coordinator for further information.
