Come celebrate International Women’s Day at Mejeriet on the 8th of March!
We have put together an awesome program for you that will be both rocking, engaging, enraging and inspiring. We have invited two talented artists that will host this evening together and perform for us. ‘A mess’ is gonna provide some punk rock energy and old school “fuck the Patriarchy “ mentality – riffing her electric guitar accompanied with activist and feministic lyrics. Jonathan Jules will be performing with Spoken Word, representing the very current topic of intersectional feminism, and give us the perspective of being a transgender woman.
On this evening, you will get a punk rock concert, performance with Spoken Word, showing of film clips with female and male perspectives on gender-topics and a panel debate with local organizations.
All THIS for the price of 100 DKK (70 DKK with a student card) – and that includes an optional drink – wine, beer or soda.
This event is for EVERYONE who wants to celebrate women on this important day – both old, young, male, female and everything in between (and outside).
Can’t wait to see you!
“Jonathan Jules Strange, is an up-and-coming Danish poet and journalist, who specializes in delivering hard-hitting, witty words, that are sure to leave you with emotional bruises. From the perspective of a non-binary, transgender woman, she seeks to illuminate the pitfalls of our patriarchal, cishetero-normative society.”
“Danish indie rocker A Mess is a one-badass-woman army armed with electric guitar. She is honest as hell with both witty as well as serious lyrical perspectives, Invigorating melodies, playful guitar licks and a hook-filled expression of being a woman of today. She is head on and fucks with predefined notions. Visions Magazine(DE) calls it “feministic power pop driven by raw guitar riffs”. A Mess strikes the chord to songs about #metoo, gender perceptions and sex. The sound relies on guitar driven indie virtues and an early nineties’ vibe .Imagine if The Breeders bred Snail Mail and left the upbringing to Pussy Riot”.
