Sonderborg Castle

Option 1: Free admittance for one person to Sonderborg Castle

Sonderborg Castle (Sønderborg Slot) was established as a castle in the first half of the 1200s. It was in this castle that King Christian II was held as a prisoner in the years 1532-1549.

You will find permanent exhibits at the castle that present the history of Sonderborg Castle and Southern Jutland in addition to cultural collections from Als and Sundeved.



Cathrinesminde Brickyard

Option 2: Free admittance for one person to Cathrinesminde Brickyard

Cathrinesminde Brickyard (Cathrinesminde Teglværk) lies in an area of natural beauty on the coast of Flensburg Fjord at Broagerland and presents the industrial history of Danish brickyards and Southern Jutland.

The beautiful landscape is marked by clay pits, kneading mills and shipping locations from hundreds of years of brickmaking operations.


Dybbøl Heights History Center

Option 3: Free admission for one person to Dybbøl Hights History Center

At Dybbøl Hights History Center (Historiecenter Dybbøl Banke), which is located in the middle of one of Denmark’s most beautiful landscapes, you walk straight into the dramatic days during the war in 1864. You become part of the biggest and most important battles in and gain new and exciting knowledge about Denmark’s history.

Dybbøl Mill

Option 4: Free admission for one person to the national symbol Dybbøl Mill

Dybbøl Mill (Dybbøl Mølle) was the center of fierce fighting in both 1848-1849 and 1864, where the mill was destroyed during both Schleswig Wars, but was subsequently rebuilt. The mill is today beautifully renovated and you can see the exhibition about the mill’s dramatic history through time.
