Sonderborg Castle
Sonderborg Castle is located by Sonderborg Harbour and has a rich history. Today, the castle has been converted into a museum with exciting exhibitions about the history of the castle and the Sonderborg area. Children and young people can go on a treasure hunt in the castle's many rooms, while adults can enjoy the beautiful castle church, the gloomy dungeon and the knight's hall.
Gråsten Castle and the Royal Kitchen Garden
Gråsten Castle is the summer residence of the Danish royal family and has been so since 1935, when Queen Ingrid, who was closely associated with South Jutland, was given the castle.
Today, the palace garden and the palace church are open to the public when the royal family is not visiting.
Otherwise, the Royal Kitchen Garden is a unique attraction where you can experience a practical garden in the most beautiful surroundings. Here you can enjoy a good cup of coffee in the café while you guess the many plants and flowers in the garden.
Augustenborg Castle
Augustenborg Castle, named after Duchess Augusta, can only be enjoyed from the outside today, as the Danish Agriculture and Fisheries Agency is housed in the buildings. However, you can go inside and see the Augustenborg Castle Church and the Palace at the castle, which is part of Augustiana Art Park and KunsthalHere you can experience modern art, temporary exhibitions and a selection of art projects and events.
Nordborg Castle
Nordborg Castle, which was formerly called Alsborg, is today a modern efterskole, which over a number of years has formed the basis for Nord-Als Music Festival.
Dybbøl Mill and History Center Dybbøl Banke
Dybbøl Mill is today a Danish landmark, which was the center of the battles in 1864. The mill is set up as a museum with exhibitions about, among other things, the history of the mill, 1864 etc. Today you can visit both the mill and History Center Dybbøl Banke to get the full story and experience of the 1864 stories.
At the History Center you cantravel back in time, when war and everyday life in 1864 revived with a large city market and a soldier's camp. You can seek cover from the grenades with your family or experience the soldiers' everyday life with exciting historical props.
Cathrinesminde Brickworks Museum
Experience a genuine part of Danish and Southern Jutland's industrial history at Cathrinesminde Brickworks Museum in Broagerland. Bring the whole family and experience the exhibition, which shows brick production through several centuries.
Augustiana Art Park and Kunsthal
Augustiana is a locally rooted art park and art hall, located in the beautiful castle park at Augustenborg Castle. The garden and Augustiana are definitely worth a visit, and the view over Augustenborg Fjord is absolutely unforgettable.
Deutsches Museum Nordschleswig
Experience the exciting history of the Danish-German border region and learn more about the history, identity and culture of the German minority in Denmark.
Boats from the past
In the Sonderborg area there are three boat guilds where you can get up close to replicas of old boats from the past. Experience the warrior canoe The Deer Jumping Boat, the ancient boat The Nydam boat and the Viking ship Sebbe Als.

The Multicultural House
The beautiful Multicultural House at Byens Havn forms the setting for Sonderborg Library, Sønderjyllands Kunstskole og The German Library as well as various cultural events and exhibitions. The renovated Ewers Pakhus houses a children's library on the ground floor, the German Library on the first floor and the Art School upstairs. The main building houses a café and the rest of the library, including the adult section.
Activity park Guderup
In the middle of the idyllic nature at Egen Mark lies Activity Park Guderup – a dynamic gathering place for everyone who enjoys active togetherness and coziness in scenic surroundings.
Try soccer golf, mini golf, mega table football, krolf, disc golf, the playground, the green areas or rent a shelter or a barbecue hut for your needs.
Admission is free for everyone.
Universe Science Park
Universe is an exciting adventure park for the whole family, where science, technology and entrepreneurship are at the forefront. Experience the many versatile experiences such as the geyser, glacier, abseiling, segway, water cannons, 5D cinema, laser course and rakat workshops, while enjoying the beautiful garden and the beautiful surroundings. There are often events in the park as well as daily shows, e.g. science show and Robert Robot.
Humlehøj Halls
Humlehøj Halls is part of a larger sports complex in Sonderborg Øster, which includes a swimming pool, sports halls with a climbing wall and a diving center. The facilities are frequently used by local associations, but there is also access to public swimming most days.

Nordborg Pier
Nordborg Pier is the new landmark for Nordals, which together with the beautiful beach path in front of Nordborg Resort, is a gathering point for everyone's enjoyment.
Visit the beautiful pier, which is publicly accessible to both tourists and citizens, and get a fantastic view over the water.
Find Nordborg Pier by driving into Universe (Mads Patent Vej) and following the road to the coast.

Facts about Nordborg Pier:
- The pier extends 140 meters into the water and has a total bridge length of 310 meters.
- The pier is 6,8 meters above daily waters at its highest point
- The surface area of the pier is approximately 2500 m2.
- 13.500 meters of boards were used for the side cladding
- 4.000 meters of pine wood have been used for the interior cladding
- 18.000 meters of deck boards have been used
- 141 wooden piles and 2.439 meters of steel piles have been used on the pier – the weight of the steel piles is 251 tons.
Swimming pools and sports facilities
There is two swimming pools and lots of sports halls in Sonderborg Municipality, which are used by our associations for a variety of activities. See them on the map.
Sonderborg Harbour Bath
In the heart of Sonderborg in Alssund you will find the beautiful harbor bath, where up to 250 bathing guests can enjoy the cooling water and the beautiful view.
The harbour bath is divided into three pools. The largest pool measures 25 meters on the longest side, the middle one is the starting pool, and the smallest pool is for the little ones with a solid bottom and a water depth of 30 cm. In addition, there are changing and toilet facilities and a sauna.
Alsik's viewing platform (Point of View)
Sonderborg's beautiful new hotel, Alsik, located on the harbor in Sonderborg, has an absolutely fantastic viewing platform. Here you can see Sonderborg from the 16th floor and enjoy the unforgettable view.
Skansen
Sydjysk Sparekasse Skansen is a sports center in Sonderborg, which is primarily used for association sports, home to SønderjyskE Men's Handball and Dybbøl School's sports classes. The hall has 2 long sides, each with 1000 seats and 200 standing places.
Sydjysk Sparekasse Skansen also hosts large concerts, company parties, Christmas lunches, the Danish Badminton Championship, Futsal league tournaments, league matches, gymnastics demonstrations and much more.
In addition, Skansen also has meeting rooms, party rooms, a boxing club, a youth club, after-school care and a fitness center.
Music venues and theater
Alsion
The Alsion concert hall in Sonderborg is one of Europe's best concert halls for classical symphonic music. Here, South Jutland Symphony Orchestra to house. The concert hall is also frequently visited by Danish and international star soloists, artists and musicians. Sonderborg Theatre
During the theater season, Sonderborg Theater has a broad repertoire for all age groups and all tastes. Sonderborg Theatre Association provides a wide range of the country's touring performances - from the big commercial hits to the smaller performances from the experimental scenes. Add to this a wealth of concerts, lectures, stand-up and conferences. And of course you can't say Sonderborg without also saying Sonderborg Summer RevueExperience the hilarious and critically acclaimed revue, which has today grown to be Denmark's third largest revue.
The Little Theatre Gråsten
If you prefer more intimate surroundings, there is also the Little Theatre in Gråsten.
