How is a painting experienced when it is only illuminated by candlelight?

You can experience this when artist Bärbel Kock invites you to an atmospheric candlelight tour in connection with the exhibition. ARS IN SPIRITAfter last year's great interest, the special evening is being repeated, where the works are experienced in a completely new atmosphere.

As twilight descends and the glow of candles becomes the only illumination, colors, details and compositions emerge in a different and more intense way. The light creates a calm and almost mystical atmosphere that invites contemplation and presence.

During the tour, Bärbel Kock talks about the thoughts behind the exhibition, the creative process and the stories behind the works.

“The twilight creates a slightly mysterious atmosphere, and the direct lighting of the paintings automatically makes the viewer focus on details, content, composition and colors. Even the old masters sometimes painted their works in candlelight to create a special atmosphere,” says the artist.
