Psychology for everyday use
Psychology for everyday use
Why do we react so differently to the same events? How are our thoughts, feelings and actions shaped by the communities we are part of? And how do we find meaning and direction in life?
These questions are central to the course series. Psychology for everyday use, which provides a broad and accessible introduction to modern psychology over ten lectures. The course is aimed at anyone with an interest in humans and their living conditions – without any special prior knowledge required.
The course combines classical psychological theories with recent research and current societal perspectives. The goal is not only to provide insight into psychology as a science, but also to strengthen the participants' psychological understanding of themselves, their relationships and the world they are a part of. Psychology thus becomes a tool for understanding everyday life and the challenges and opportunities that face us as humans.
The instructors are Henriette Heide-Jørgensen and Karen Mølbæk. Henriette is a cand.theol., Jungian analyst and PhD in Psychoanalytic Studies. Karen is a parish priest, cand.mag. in psychology, religion and social studies as well as a HD(O) and master's degree in management and organizational psychology.
