Manor Day at Sonderborg Castle

Manor Day at Sonderborg Castle

Come and visit Sonderborg Castle for Manor Day on August 16, 2026.

Sonderborg Castle has more than 800 years of history, and on the occasion of Manor Day, the museum is holding two guided tours. Here you can experience some of the castle's most important rooms and hear stories about the people who have left their mark on the place over time.

Experience, among other things, the church, the knight's hall, the dungeon and the old bakery - and hear the story of King Christian II, who was imprisoned in the castle for 17 years, as well as Duke Hans the Younger, who had 23 children and is the ancestor of the current Danish royal family.

In our children's room, children can cut and decorate their own royal crown and try on costumes inspired by the time of Duke Hans the Younger.

The tours take place at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM.

On the occasion of Manor Day, the tours are free.

Adult: Tour is free after paying admission (115 DKK, which is paid when reserving a seat on the tour)

Annual pass and member of HSAOS: Guided tour and admission free

Children: Guided tour and admission free

There are a limited number of seats on the tours, and we therefore recommend booking tickets in advance.
