The Danish Boys' Choir visits Christianskirken with the concert piece Towards Dawn

Christianskirken will be visited by the Danish Boys' Choir on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 7:00 PM, who will perform the concert work Towards Dawn – a musical story where the Danish song treasure meets new sounds and modern expressions.

The audience can experience the choir's singers aged 9-14 in a different concert format, where well-known Danish songs are intertwined with electronic sound surfaces, piano and double bass. The music moves between darkness and light, while melodies and moods glide into each other and create a coherent concert sequence.

The work is created by the composer duo LÖVHOLM, consisting of the Danish Boys' Choir's chief conductor Emil Ritter and double bassist Tomas Raae. Both will participate in the concert on piano and double bass, respectively. The choir's singers will perform both together and as soloists throughout the concert.

More than 40 years of choir history

The Danish Boys' Choir concert choir consists of boys aged 9-14. The choir works based on the values ​​of togetherness, presence and self-esteem and combines high musical quality with a strong social community.

For more than four decades, the choir has made its mark on the Danish music scene. The choir's singers regularly perform at church concerts, in concert halls, on television and as a children's choir at opera productions at the Royal Theatre. In addition, the choir undertakes concert tours every year both in Denmark and internationally.

The concert in Christianskirken is part of the choir's tour in 2026, which will, among other things, bring Towards Dawn to North Jutland, Norway, Sweden and South Jutland.
