WoodSculpture in Sonderborg

On June 14 - 20, 2026, one of Sonderborg's most beloved summer traditions will be held: the woodcarving symposium WoodSculpture. A number of sculptors from different parts of the world meet every year at Slotskajen in Sonderborg to shape their own work of art out of oak logs for a week. The public flocks throughout the week to see the process from log to sculpture. When the symposium is over, the year's production will be placed in one or more places around Sonderborg Municipality. This means that there are now close to 150 sculptures distributed throughout Sonderborg Municipality.

The event has taken place every year since 2012, with the only exception being the corona summer of 2020. It is a collaboration between Uwe Wolff's Foundation and Sonderborg Municipality, assisted by a wide range of local partners.
