On this page, you will find current news about Tour de France in Sonderborg. Are you a tourist - click here.
Soon you can also find information about traffic, the route, and participation as an active part of the big day on Sunday 4 July 2021.

Sonderborg will become destination town in the third stage of Tour de France 2021!
The stage will start in Vejle and end in Sonderborg. Therefore, Sonderborg will be in focus when the world’s most known cycling race – Tour de France – runs across the screen.
From Sonderborg the participants go by plane and continue the race under southern skies.
The third stage starts in Vejle, and it will be about 170 km long. We have not yet planned the exact route, but we are preparing a round trip where the participants will pass various attractions and beautiful areas of Sonderborg, among other things Dybbøl Mill and Sonderborg Castle.

Millions of people all over the world will follow Tour de France, and to Søoderborg it is a unique possibility to present the best of Denmark as well as the beautiful area of Sonderborg. By choosing such a comprehensive project as Tour de France, Sonderborg really demonstrates development and progress in the municipality at national as well as at international level – and puts itself on the world map.

The event on 4 July will become a real popular celebration, with the focus on cycling of course, however also attracting visitors from Denmark as well as abroad who want to experience the race and the atmosphere.

With this great attention to Sonderborg we expect an increased revenue on 4 July, and we hope that more tourists will visit Sonderborg in the future.

The planning of the stage has already started. If you have input or questions please feel free to contact Bente Blenstrup, Project Manager, at bbma@sonderborg.dk.
